Prior to starting WNS, Tony served as senior vice president of the Real Estate & Sustainability practice at Edelman Atlanta. Additionally, he formed and served as co-chair of Edelman's national real estate sub-practice, the only one of its kind among global PR agencies. He generated new business for the firm, managed significant accounts, shared his media expertise throughout the firm and became a leader on social media initiatives.
Before joining Edelman, Tony was a manager in the PR department at Home Depot, where he led communications around the launch of Eco Options, the company's line of products deemed to have less of an impact on the environment. He also served as one of four national spokespeople for Home Depot, the second-largest retailer in the U.S. In his first PR job, Tony headed the real estate group at Jackson Spalding.
Tony's career began in journalism, and his broad writing and editing background—including at a major metropolitan newspaper, a business weekly and a real estate trade publication—makes him uniquely qualified to work with the media on behalf of his clients. His 14-year, award-winning journalism career culminated on the business desk at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he covered real estate, as well as hometown corporate icons Home Depot and Georgia-Pacific. He was known as one of the best beat reporters at the newspaper due to the relationships he developed within the companies and industries he covered. He was also a leader in the newspaper's move toward digital media, starting a successful Web page and e-mail blast dedicated to commercial real estate news.
Before the AJC, Tony served as a reporter and real estate editor at Atlanta Business Chronicle, as the top editor at National Real Estate Investor and as a reporter at mid-sized and small newspapers including The Savannah Morning News and The Albany Herald.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts (communications) from the University of Delaware, and he serves as the Atlanta alumni coordinator for the university. He completed graduate studies at the University of Maryland. He lives with his wife (and business partner) Caroline Wilbert and their three children in Atlanta. Tony’s passions include the Washington Redskins and classic rock n roll (particularly Tom Petty).
